My Saint Patrick's Day baby! Too Rah Loo Rah! I honestly wasn't expecting to keep a kid out of King's Rock High Speed Chase 2*M and CH Risin' Creek Wen Khaos Strikes but the luck of the Irish must have been coming through because from the day she was born TooRah was a keeper. She was actually where we came up with the "She's Something" name but since she was born on Saint Patrick's Day, we saved that for another doe :), and gave her her Irish name. TooRah was born long, tall and wide, and has remained that way ever since.
TooRah was the 9th place Intermediate Kid at the 2016 ADGA Nationals, and one of 5 Striker kids who placed in the Top 10! She also was the 1st Place Intermediate Kid at the Dutchess County Youth Show and at the Progressive Dairy Goat Club MidSummer Madness, she was 2nd in both rings! She finished off the show season going 3rd at the Big E! Like all first fresheners, we are anxiously awaiting her udder and can't wait to see how it develops! TooRah will actually be one of the first Striker daughters we get to see fresh too, making this even more exciting!
TooRah, like all of our does, comes from a long line of powerful, wide animals and is really no exception. While Chase was not our showiest doe, she certainly has all the characteristics of a King's Rock doe: the wide rump (she scored a 33 in rump width this year), the excellent appraising feet, and the great ability to milk! In 2016, Chase had a lactation of 2200 pounds in 235 days with 111 pounds of butterfat. She joined our neighbor's herd this fall to add milk to their bulk tank and contribute in a place where she best excels! Striker finished his championship at his only show out ever, going undefeated and winning Grand Champion in 3 rings! He was a large powerful animal that commanded attention when he walked. We joking called him "the beast" because he was MASSIVE!. TooRah definitely inherited his height and power!
TooRah is bred to King's Rock Up All Knight for April kids! This breeding combines the strength of Striker and also brings Madison's udder into the genetics of these kids! The combination is a really exciting one for us (and one we have used heavily this year)! The first choice doe reservation is available! If you are looking for adding a kid with great dairy strength, feet, width, and HEIGHT, this is a breeding to look at closely!
