Ok, so I realize it is Monday but with Christmas yesterday, I thought it would be better to push our Sunday Spotlight off a day! Our second Sunday Spotlight to be featured is our soon to be three-year-old second freshener King’s Rock EX Amata Isabella 3*M LA: 02-03 87 VVVV!
Amata had a very successful 2016. She was our last doe to kid and our first doe to dry up but she showed what she was made of this year! At Nationals, in one of the biggest classes of the day, Amata was 15th place two-year-old. She also went on to be the 1st place two-year-old at the Dutchess County Fair and the 2nd place two-year-old at the Big E!
She excelled in the ADGA performance programs as well, earning an appraisal score of 87 VVVV this year. She went excellent in feet and very good in many categories of the score card. Even though she was only lactating 192 days, she produced 1450 pounds of milk, peaking at 9.2 pounds and consistently putting milk in the pail each test. She earned her star through her high butterfat production and during her lactation she produced 73 pounds of butterfat! In fact, her lowest butterfat percentage was still 4.2%!!
Amata is a cross between two of our herd stars, GCH Madison 2*M LA: 88 VVVE and GCH Expresso +B LA: 92 EEE. She already exhibits great characteristics from each and is maturing nicely. She is an all-around nice doe and we suspect she will be truly spectacular in a few years. Her udder is nice and tight to her body with great foreudder extension and also a very strong medial suspensory ligament. When milked, she milks down to nothing and her udder just collapses! She stands on great feet and has a great display of dairyness while still being a powerful animal.
Both Madison and Expresso earned their championships this year. Madison finished her’s at her first show of the season and Expresso had a great year too, going undefeated in his class with a show record of 8x 1st place, Grand Champion 5x, Reserve Champion 3x and Best Buck in Show 1x! Madison placed 19th as a four-year-old at the 2016 National Show and went on to be Best of Breed and Best Udder at the Dutchess County Fair this year!
Amata is bred to her maternal half-brother, King’s Rock Up All Knight and due April 1st! During his one show of 2016, Knight was twice Grand Champion Junior Buck and two times 3rd place 6-12-month-old AOP buck at just over 6 months old! He is a really correct buck, standing on powerful legs and has the height and length that his father was known for! Hopefully, he passes on that height and length to these kids as well!
These kids may be due April 1st but there is no joke that they will be nice kids. They will be 13.27% inbred, with one of our strongest does, GCH King’s Rock Madison Isabella 2*M being their top contributor at 6.28%. This is a breeding that places a great emphasis on her excellent appraising udder as well as concentrates the genetics of our two great herdsires GCH Fox’s Pride LFR Expresso +B and CH Risin’ Creek Wen Khaos Strikes. We cannot wait to see them! Reservations are available for both buck and doe kids from her breeding to Knight! For more information, check out our For Sale page.
