King's Rock Raindrops on Roses

It's time to kick off our annual Sunday Spotlight doe feature! We are going to start off with our dry yearling King's Rock Raindrops on Roses who is our first doe due in 2017!  Rosie is a very exciting first freshener for us, and appraised Extremely Correct this year during her young stock linear appraisal.  A farm favorite, Rosie is loved by everyone and we can't wait to see what her future holds!

King's Rock Java Chip 2*M LA: 04-02 88 EVEV

Rosie is our AI daughter out of King's Rock Java Chip 1*M and Foxwood Madison's Gargamel. Gargamel actually sired our first doe AKM-Farm Alexandra Isabella 1*M LA: (08-03) 90 VEEE back in 2003 so we were thrilled when we were able to bring back his genetics into our herd via AI.  Allie appraised Excellent in mammary at eight years old and passed that mammary system on to her daughter Madison.  We are crossing our fingers that Rosie will freshen with a similar mammary system, or even one similar to her mother's! Speaking of looking like their mother, Java is following in her mother, Carmel's footsteps and we are hoping to finish her in 2017.  She appraised 88 EVEV as a 4 year old and earned two legs towards her championship this year as well.  For show highlights, she placed 15th in a very large and competitive class at the 2016 ADGA Nationals and also was Grand Champion, Best of Breed and Best Udder at the Big E!

King's Rock Up All Knight

King's Rock Up All Knight

For 2017, we bred her to King's Rock Up All Knight, our Madison and Striker son from 2016.  While we used Knight heavily this year, this is one of the crosses I am most anxious about seeing! This breeding puts Foxwood Madison's Gargamel as the top inbreeding contributor and plays with the genetics that produced some very strong mammary systems.  The second contributor is Faith-Farm AG Genesis, a very influencial buck in many herds!

During his one show of 2016, Knight was twice Grand Champion Junior Buck and two times 3rd place 6-12 month old AOP buck at just over 6 months old! He is a really correct buck, standing on powerful legs and has the height and length that his father was known for!  Hopefully, he passes on that height and length to these kids as well!

We do have a second doe kid reservation available on this breeding, with kids due to be born March 31st.  We typically do not take reservations on buck kids out of first fresheners but wait to evaluate the doe before offering any buck kids for sale.
